Project Goals

This will actually be a threefold project. In the first part, we’ll take an existing Web magazine article design and create a print style sheet for it. With such a style sheet in place, we won’t have to create “Click here for printer-friendly version” views of the page. Here are some of the goals we will consider:

  • Change the article’s font to be serif, which many studies claim is easier to read on a page.

  • Restyle the site’s masthead so that it doesn’t have a background and instead borders along the top and bottom. The site’s logo and the top banner ad should also appear. (That way the ad sponsor can be charged for more page views.)

  • Prevent the navigation links on the left side of the page from printing.
