Adding a New Layout

There are two methods of creating separate layouts for other orientations for Adobe DPS—three if you count creating a liquid layout, but I’ll discuss that separately later in this chapter.

Creating a Separate Document Layout

Before InDesign CS6, there was only the method of using separate INDD files for each layout. Even with the introduction of the Alternate Layout system in CS6 that allows all of an article’s layouts to exist side by side (so to speak) in a single document, many creatives prefer to stick to the separate-document method.
