Starting a Publication

Creating an interactive magazine for publication through Adobe Digital Publishing Suite begins the same way as any InDesign publication, with the New Document dialog available by choosing File > New > Document.

Set the Intent field to Digital Publishing, which, like Web, automatically makes the document color space RGB and the measurement system pixels. It also disables the Facing Pages option because there’s no such thing as facing pages in an interactive magazine.

In the Page Size drop-down you’ll now see an abbreviated list of page size presets with an emphasis on common tablet device sizes (in Figure 9-1, note that the two sizes at the top are custom page size presets I created; see the sidebar “Create Custom Page ...
