Creating Multiple-Chapter Ebooks

Although many ebooks are short enough to not need chapters or sections, the vast majority of ebooks include content broken into chapters. Given that many older ereaders cannot display XHTML files larger than 300 KB, breaking longer books into separate, chapter-based XHTML files is often a necessity. You can start creating chapters in the original content before it gets to InDesign, create chapters by making an INDD break at specific points, or, after InDesign, break your ebook into chapters by hand in the EPUB’s files.
