12LITERATURE STUDY FOR SECTION I

12.1 INTRODUCTION

This chapter consists of three parts related to Section I (i.e., Chapters 1–11). The first part summarizes available computer codes that can be applied for the conventional use of DEA, which has been discussed in chapters of Section I. The second part discusses the methodological link between DEA and its applications for environmental assessment from a pedagogical perspective. The last part lists the previous research efforts cited in the chapters of Section I.

12.2 COMPUTER CODES

The available computer codes are classified into general and DEA‐specific codes. Most of models discussed in the chapters of Section I can be solved by the specific codes. Table 12.1 summarizes the two types of computer codes. The general codes, including GAMS, MATLAB and LINDO, can be applied to all the models discussed in the chapters of Section I.
