Samples

The starting point for any laboratory exercise is the taking of Samples. The data involved are described in the model fragment that is Figure 17-1. A Sample is a relatively small amount of material extracted for the purpose of evaluating its quality or content. This may be, for example, to support a manufacturing process, basic research, a pharmaceutical clinical trial, a forensic analysis, or an environmental study. In the part of the model shown in Figure 17-1, each Sample must be taken during exactly one Sampling Activity.
