3.6. Securing Mount Points

Navigating the file system through the Finder or through Terminal on a mounted drive is one of the most common tasks a user will do on their computer. It is also one of the most common things an attacker who is actually looking for information will do. You never want your system to be compromised, but when it does happen, you want to limit the access that an unauthorized user will have. Restricting access to disks, volumes, and RAIDs using mount options is one way to accomplish this.
