Chapter 6. Delivering Managed Preferences

In the previous chapter, you saw how to create preferences and how to store them in a directory. But how do you deliver the preferences to the client machine being managed?

In this chapter, you'll learn about several ways to deliver these preferences. Depending on your environment, you may use just one of these techniques, or a combination of them all. We'll start with the common case of using Apple's own Open Directory running on Mac OS X Server. From there, we'll introduce Microsoft's Active Directory as a way to manage your Macs.
