Enterprise Process Modeling and Workflow Management

6.1 Introduction

From the perspective of IIIE, an “enterprise process” can be viewed as a mechanism for abstracting and modeling organizational processes and their various elements. The concept of “workflow” is closely related to the concept of enterprise process. A workflow represents a sequence of operations related to an element or a subelement in an organizational process. The relationship between enterprise process and workflow is similar to the relationship between a system and its subsystems.
