Cable Connectors

The RJ-45 connector is the de facto standard for Cat5 copper wiring. However, in fibre cabling you have several options: LC, SC, and ST type connectors. SC is currently the most common because it is the standard connector type for most current Gigabit Interface Converters (GBIC) used in fibre networking and SAN applications. The LC connector is half the size of an SC connector, and it is likely, since space is always at a premium, that LC will eventually surpass SC as the most common fibre connector type.
