Playing with Depth Perception

Computer-generated visualizations displayed in print or onscreen must flatten three-dimensional reality onto two-dimensional surfaces, so obviously a lot gets lost in translation. Fortunately, Photoshop offers many illusions for simulating an extra dimension by playing with depth perception. Use the following techniques to add depth to 2D imagery in order to give the viewer a richer visualization experience:
