Chapter 3. Encode Audio and Video

Now we turn to defining just how our project’s audio and video will be compressed when encoded as a Flash Video file.

Our goal is to create a video that downloads quickly over the Internet, while still preserving as much of the quality as possible.

Audio presents specific challenges. It might surprise you to learn that it is the audio element of your video that takes up most of the file size of your compressed video file. Higher video quality also increases file size.

In this chapter, we’ll solve all these problems by creating audio and video encoding profiles for the video file we imported in the previous chapters.
