Abstract

Continuous improvement is the key to maintaining a sustainable engineering system, both in terms of its reliability as well as continuity of use. The essential process cycle of continuous improvement is plan-do-check-act actions. Six sigma is a continuous improvement methodology that has been practiced for a decade. For in-service engineering systems, the six sigma methodology needs to be combined with the enterprise system to make the continuous improvement process more effective and efficient.
