Part III Thermodynamics

In this part of the book we study thermodynamics, with two additional chapters introducing heat transfer and fluid mechanics. These three topics are collectively known as the thermal sciences that are brought together here under the collective heading of thermodynamics.

Thermodynamics (literally translated as heat power) is concerned with the relationship between heat and mechanical energy and the conversion (transfer) of one to another.
