OBJECTIVES

After studying this chapter, you will be able to

  • Understand how drawings of points and straight lines are prepared in the form of views that are known as orthographic projections

  • Describe the principal planes of projections on which different views are obtained

  • Describe all the possible positions of points and lines with respect to the principal planes

  • Describe the principal directions from where the points and lines are viewed and the relative positions in which these views are arranged
