Social Media Quick-Start Guide
We know that when you’re new to social media, learning how the various platforms work can be a little daunting. In this section you’ll find a brief, basic overview of the “Big Four” platforms (Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, and Twitter), explanations for the various terms associated with each platform, and tips for using some of the platforms’ features.
The largest of the social networks, Facebook (http://facebook.com) has become a favorite destination for people, businesses, and organizations to connect and share information because of its easy-to-use interface and interactive features. Facebook is multimedia-friendly as you can post text, pictures, audios, and videos. The platform also offers tons of applications and widgets that can make your Facebook Page engaging and fun.
Just about everything posted to Facebook has a comment field for you, friends, and fans to post a response and facilitate a conversation. (Also see “Comments” in the Glossary.)
