GETTING BEYOND ANALYSIS AND INTO ACTION

In Chapter 4, we briefly outlined the five steps to move from survey to actions – check, calibrate, commit, communicate and conclude – and the last chapter covered the first two of these steps in detail. This chapter examines the remaining three steps. The first of these is ‘commit’, which is key to avoiding some of the problems found in organizations such as ‘analysis paralysis’ or lack of ownership for follow-up actions. We’ll then look at ‘communicate’ – something that will have already started with sharing initial results, but becomes especially important when setting out action plans and making employees aware of progress being made.
