Before starting this section, you must have a basic understanding of ATM classes of service, such as unspecified bit rate (UBR). You might want to read Appendix B, with its explanation of ATM basics, standards, and usage, before beginning the following material. This section describes the DSL-specific parameters that constitute the DSL quality of service (QoS).
