The importance of employment law

INTRODUCTION

Employment law ultimately protects employees from exploitation, but it also works towards good practice and encourages activities that will support business. In this chapter we justify the need for employment law for both employees and employers. This will also give us the opportunity to introduce the employment contract with its implied and express terms, the formal document on which, it can be argued, the employment relationship is based.
