Leadership can be defined, and guidelines can be provided for various challenges a leader will face, but there is an art to being a leader. The art can be taught, but not in half a day or a day, and not with purely skill-building techniques.
Real leadership is as much an intuitive process as it is skill-based. The very best leaders are able to pick up on subtle cues that other people drop in conversation.
