We all communicate information to each other about our needs, feelings, intentions, likes and dislikes, etc., not just by what we say, but by what we don’t say. It’s usually quite easy to tell when someone else is angry, frightened, surprised, disgusted, joyful or sad – they don’t have to say anything, it’s usually written all over their face!

But other emotions can be harder to read; you can’t just rely on a person’s facial expression to tell you how they might be feeling.
