Chapter 6. UML

In becoming the standard language for modeling software systems, UML has garnered wide acceptance among modeling enthusiasts and extensive support from modeling tools. If you’re already comfortable with UML, this will be a convenient representation for specifying your models. However, because EMF only concerns itself with a small subset of UML, you really don’t need to be a UML expert to use it to represent Ecore. The relevant UML constructs are essentially the ones that are used in a class diagram: packages, classes, attributes, associations, and operations.
