Martin Hemberg is a PhD student at the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College, London. His area of research is complex systems and he is particularly interested in emergence, self-organisation and morphogenesis. He holds an MSc in engineering physics from Chalmers University of Technology, and a BSc in economics from the University of Gothenburg. In 2001 he joined the Emergent Design Group at MIT and participated in the development of Genr8 as his master’s thesis. After moving to London in 2003 he began teaching at the Emergent Technologies and Design masters programme at the Architectural Association.

Michael Hensel is an architect and partner in OCEAN NORTH and the Emergence and Design Group. He is director of the Emergent Technologies and Design masters programme and unit master of Diploma Unit 4 at the Architectural Association School of Architecture.
