What Does Focus Really Mean?

The word focus gets used way too often, and most people who tell someone to focus don’t truly understand what they are suggesting.

You can go to any Little League park in the country, and in a matter of minutes, some adult will yell, “Come on, you guys, you gotta focus!” The kids have no idea what the grown-ups are saying, and neither do the grown-ups.

In business, we frequently hear of poor performers described as lacking or having no focus. We hear statements like, “This guy is all over the place. He has no focus.”
