Interviewing the vendor team

In the course of selecting your vendor, you conducted interviews with their leadership, the project teams, and their references. Continue exercising due diligence with the resource people whom they propose train you and your staff.

Ask the following questions of the potential trainers:

How long have you been a trainer?

How long have you been training these specific modules/applications?

Describe the process that you went through to become a trainer.

Do you have a clinical or office practice background? If so, please elaborate.

How have you handled a disgruntled training attendee?

What makes you a good trainer?

Conduct reference checks with practices that have been live for a few months. Ask the following questions of a reference:

What was your experience with your trainer?

What did they do well?

What do you wish they would have done differently?

Were there any specific problems with any training class attendees? If so, how did they handle the situation?

Would you request them again to train your staff?
