In this chapter, you learned how to configure different types of nodes in Elasticsearch, along with keeping best practices in mind when going for the production deployments of an Elasticsearch cluster. The chapter covered one of the most important aspects of cluster sizing—resource allocation and configuration for different types of nodes.

Finally, we saw some key metrics such as CPU, disk I/Ops, RAM, and utilizations to watch out for when your cluster needs scaling and the best practices to follow for scaling without downtime.
