The previous two chapters are all about creating, displaying, and manipulating data within Flex. The next two chapters are all about transmitting data back and forth between a Flash client (developed using Flex) and a server running PHP. These are all crucial chapters to me, as I feel that the data shared in a client-server relationship is at the heart of Rich Internet Applications. As a preamble to the next two chapters, this one will look at the client, the server, and the data being transferred as individual pieces. By doing so, hopefully the interrelation of these parts in the following two chapters will be easily understood.
