Creating and Controlling Interest

Audience interest is one of our primary concerns when creating a production. Without it our show is a dead duck! Even a captive classroom audience cannot be made to pay attention, only encouraged!

Interesting pictures

Certain kinds of pictures have a higher associated interest than others. For instance, a shot with strongly contrasted tones is more arresting than the subtle half-tones of a high-key picture. A picture showing clear detail encourages scrutiny, while a soft-focused version does not. Similarly, strong dynamic composition draws the eye, while weak diverse lines do not.
