Shooting the Moving Subject

You can shoot moving subjects in various ways. Each has its own audience impact, and its own problems.

Framing restrictions

Action is difficult to follow in closeup, and where a shot is too tight to contain subject movements, they will pass out of frame. So unless you are content to lose part of the action, you will need a wider shot or a different viewpoint, or must attempt to follow movement Where action can be anticipated (someone standing or sitting) the camera can usually hold the shot

Camera movements

Subjects moving to/from the camera are easier to keep in frame than movement across thesereen, although diagonal moves are generally the most interesting.
