Scenery

Most settings (sets) are built up from a series of ‘stock’ scenic pieces. These prefabricated units are selected, decorated and arranged to create a wide range of environments. They can be augmented by various additional features such as drapes, scenic cloths (backdrops), decorative screens and panels, and modular units.

Effective scenic design makes a major contribution to the success of any production; creating a sense of occasion, giving it authority.
