Methods of Sound Pickup
The method you use for sound pickup can directly influence the production and lighting techniques possible

• Personal microphone, A small electret clip-on mike is extensively used for speech pickup. It can be attached to the tie, lapel or shirt, or may be worn hidden beneath the clothing (with some loss of clarity). Alternatively, it may be suspended on a cord loop around the neck, as a lavalier mike.
Personal microphones may be used with a long trailing cable to the audio equipment or attached to a small belt-worn radio transmitter (as a wireless mike), which is picked up by a nearby receiver unit.
