The Launching Phases of the Adaptive SDPM and Iterative SDPM strategies bear a lot of similarity. However, in the case of the Iterative models, the focus is on discovering missing features, whereas in the Adaptive models the focus is on discovering missing functions. That is a more challenging task. The Iterative models know where they are going as far as defining an acceptable solution.

The Adaptive models do not. That’s the challenge of Adaptive projects over the challenge of Iterative projects.

In the search for the missing functionality and the features that further define that functionality, the team and the customer are called upon to be collaborative, open-minded, and creative.
