Putting It All Together

Using Iterative and Adaptive PMLC models can be among the most challenging and fulfilling experiences you might have as a project manager. To whet your appetite, I showed you Prototyping, RUP, ASD, APF, DSDM, and Scrum. You saw how they were the same and how they differed. You saw how conditions could change your choice of model and how best to use it. You now know how to use each model, even though there is much more to learn about each one. There are many more choices for those who are interested. See the bibliography in Appendix C for suggestions of where to look. There is always something new to learn. Learning to be successful with Agile projects is as much an art as it is a science.

Agile projects are definitely calling upon you to be a chef and not a cook. I have given you enough detail to start you on your journey to being a chef. I hope you have the courage to start and stay steadfast on that journey.
