I would like to acknowledge all of the practical experience I gained while I was with Ernst & Young working on a number of portfolios of projects. They had developed a very systematic, documented, proven approach to managing a large portfolio of very challenging projects/programs to minimize their probability of failure and to maximize the profit Ernst & Young realized from working on the projects.

I also would like to acknowledge the unsung hero of this book, Candy Rogers, who coordinated and brought together the writings and thoughts of the three authors.
