Now that we have the balancer in multi-AZ with an SSL configured as well as a scalable system, the RDS is deployed in multi-AZ. However, the EC2 machine is still in a single AZ so this is consequently a single point of failure which doesn't scale automatically. We need to configure the Auto Scaling feature for the EC2 part, but first of all we need to move the state outside of the machine if it is still there.
