In the last few decades, the size of the average infrastructure and the complexity of the stack have skyrocketed. Managing infrastructure on an ad-hoc basis, as was once possible, is very error-prone. In a DevOps culture, the provisioning and configuration of servers, networks, and services in general, are performed through automation.
