Video production pointers

When you begin to produce videos for your course, the first thing to understand is that there are two main approaches to recording them:

  • Screen recording: This method is most useful to teach software programs or export PowerPoint presentations; these videos allow a student to follow along as you demonstrate a piece of software using your computer or tablet. To enhance the quality of these videos, many instructors adopt a picture-in-picture approach that features them talking while the main portion of the screen displays the software being demonstrated.
