“The Ethics of Voicing One’s Values” identifies the ethical drivers for the series Giving Voice to Values (GVV) itself. I draw first on my experience using GVV in the first-year MBA orientation at the MIT Sloan School of Management, where students discover the importance of a story in management and ethical decision making through “A Tale of Two Stories.” I then turn to my experience applying GVV with the MIT Sloan partner programs in China, where it became apparent that the term “values” requires definition and translation, not just abroad, but at home as well.
