On occasion you may need a way to play only a portion of a track, like when you might want to play a small segment of a travel video or one segment of a training video. On small DVDs, you can accomplish this by creating a new track in DVD Studio Pro containing only the desired segment of the track; in other words, by duplicating your video. You can trim the start and end points of an existing MPEG stream while authoring a track, but sometimes adding more video to your DVD project can push the total running time beyond the nominal limit, forcing you to reduce the video encode rate, and possibly reducing video quality.
