From the beginning of his career, Thomas Edison possessed a gift for inspiring confidence. He did this, first and foremost, by conveying to others the creative energy that animated his own vision. As he compiled a record of one successful invention and innovation after another, he laid an ever-mightier foundation on which the confidence of others was readily built. Moreover, in each project he undertook, Edison maintained a personal presence in every aspect of the creative process, from inception through prototyping and all the way through manufacturing and marketing.
