The installation downloads the installation wizard. The installation wizard downloads the executable files associated with nvm, and adjusts the PATH environment variable. The PATH is used to look up programs when they are executed on the command line. If a program is in one of the folders found in the PATH, then it can be executed without referencing its absolute or relative path.
