Appendix I. The Earned Value Management System Criteria

Since the introduction of Earned Value Management (EVM) to industry on 22 December 1967, the United States (U.S.) Department of Defense (DOD) has consistently defined its requirements for its use through a series of management system criteria to be met by any company wishing to do business with the DOD. These criteria were originally specified within the DOD Instruction 7000.2, entitled Performance Measurement for Selected Acquisitions.
