Because of their simplicity, e-tivities offer online group learning to participants with disabilities that might hinder their capacity to take part in more conventional learning activities. In most countries, legislation requires at least minimum access to courseware for disabled learners. E-tivities help, as they can be based on clear invitational messages and enable all contributions to be equally valued.

Online, disabilities and special needs are rarely obvious unless the participant chooses to write about them. People with speech or hearing difficulties are not at any disadvantage in text-based messaging.
