We saw in Figure 1.2 that training investments in business and industry are nearing $60 billion! To get a return on investment, all training initiatives, including e-learning, must improve job performances that lead to achievement of organizational operational goals. Operational goals are bottom-line indicators of organizational success, such as increase in market share, decrease in product flaws or errors, increase in customer satisfaction, or fewer accidents, to name but a few.
