Next Steps

This chapter demonstrated how an Oracle database can be created and populated. We used a detailed script-based approach to see the various steps involved in this process. It should be noted that you also could have used a GUI approach for database creation, which would be simpler but wouldn't have explained to you what goes on behind the scenes during database creation.

Now that we have created and populated JSTP (the JavaStop database), the next chapter will show you how to use SQL to manipulate the database by inserting, updating, deleting, and selecting data from the database.
