Working with Export/Import Utilities
The Export/Import utility combination is provided by Oracle to perform data transfer between Oracle databases. Export generates an Oracle proprietary file that contains the necessary data and information to perform the data transfer. This dump file is in a binary format and you should not try to edit it. This dump file can be read by only the Import utility.

Editing the export dump file can make the file unusable.
