Next Steps

After knowing these core requirements we can now proceed to designing and implementing the database using Oracle8i. In Chapters 2, "Creating and Populating the JavaStop Database," and 3, "Manipulating the JavaStop Oracle Database Using SQL," we will be working more with the database aspects of the project: creating the database objects (tables, indexes, and so on), populating the database, and using SQL to manipulate the data. After Chapter 3 we will be making use of Java and the Internet capabilities of Oracle8i to Web-enable our database.
