Entries in the following index are arranged alphabetically by HTML attribute. Look up an attribute to find out which HTML elements support it. This listing is a union of nonevent attributes defined for elements in Internet Explorer, pre-Mozilla Netscape Navigator, Mozilla, Safari, Opera, Web Forms 2.0, and the latest HTML/XHTML recommendations, including deprecated items. The same attribute name may mean different things for different elements. Be sure to look up the details of the attribute listing in Chapter 1, to find out if the attribute is available for the browser(s) used by your intended audience and whether it does what you want. When you see an attribute with a very long list of elements, the attribute is most likely covered among the shared attributes at the beginning of Chapter 1.
