Modem cards and Ethernet cards are both types of network cards. Modem cards let you dial into your Internet Service Provider (ISP) through your phone line. Ethernet cards enable you to hook up to a high-speed Internet connection or connect to a LAN.

We really don't recommend going the dial-up route, unless you're the type of person who finds waiting in bumper-to-bumper traffic relaxing. Dial-up is sloooow. ...
