Memory

Memory is the place where your processor conducts all of its work, serving as a temporary storage place for data and information that's being processed (Figure 2.6). Memory plays a critical role in your computer's performance, so make sure you have enough and that it's of high quality. We recommend that you stick with the major vendors, such as OCZ Technology, Kingston Technology Company, and Crucial (a division of Micron), and avoid the generic house brand memory that is available across the Internet.
